Electronic Home Monitoring
Similar to adult corrections, house arrest programs utilizing radio frequency technology is offered for juvenile corrections. The Elmo Tech home arrest unit (EMS 2000) allows our monitoring center to put
schedules in place so that offender’s comings and goings, whether to work or school can be closely and continually monitored.
Moreover, some of the advantages to the home arrest unit offered by Minnesota Monitoring is that it operates with program adaptability. For example, the detectable transmitter signals
can be set at four separate programmable ranges. This allows for better supervision of program participants residing in an apartment compared to those living in a larger home.
Curfew Calls An additional program that is offered to juvenile corrections is
our Curfew Call Program utilizing Voice Verification. This system utilizes voice recognition to determine if a juvenile offender is home or not. By utilizing computer-generated calls in
conjunction with voice signature technology, it can determine if a juvenile offender is violating their curfew. There is no ankle transmitter used with this device, in fact no equipment is needed.
This advantage allows us to offer a valuable program at far less the cost.
Drug Testing Offenders take a noninvasive Urine Analysis (UA) to test for drugs in their system. The following is a list of
drugs offered for testing, but not limited to: THC, Cocaine, Opiates, Amphetamines, PCP, Barbiturates, Nicotine, Benzodiazapines, Methamphetamines, ECSTASY, Ritalin or DXM. A hair sample can also be taken to test for THC, Cocaine, Opiates, Amphetamines, PCP, Methamphetamines, and ECSTASY. Lab results take 48 to 72 hours. It will detect drugs of abuse within the past 90 day period.
Case Management
Our Case Managers prescreen program offenders, manage all program activity, and work directly with agency officials with respect to programmatic matters. They also prepare and forward written
reports, forward any requested statistical data to agency officials, collect or invoice alternative funding sources for program fees, manage offender’s equipment, verify work and school schedules, and ensure all
offender programmatic requirements are addressed.
