Family Services

Minnesota Monitoring provides numerous family services:

In many family and social service cases where there are questions involving parental drug and or alcohol abuse, Minnesota Monitoring can facilitate drug and alcohol testing. Whether it is court ordered or voluntary, drug and alcohol testing can be used to alleviate these questions.

Through noninvasive Urinalysis or (UA), Minnesota Monitoring offers tests for a wide range of drugs both prescription and street. Some of the drugs tested for, but not limited to, are THC, Cocaine, Opiates (both Morphine based and extended Opiates), Amphetamines including Methamphetamine and Ecstasy, PCP, Barbiturates, Nicotine, Benzodiazapines, Ritalin, or DXM. We offer both instant onsight devices, as well as, lab confirmed tests. Most lab results are given within 1 - 3 business days from the time the lab receives the sample.

Random Testing can be done for drugs and alcohol using the Sentry System.

In conjunction with urinalysis, Minnesota Monitoring offers an expanded five-panel hair test. With its unique components, a hair sample can detect drugs of abuse within the past 90 days and up to a year in some cases. Hair can also become a permanent record of drug usage, whereas urine can be quickly eliminated. Hair samples are also difficult to adulterate. In a side by side comparison, hair testing more frequently identifies more drug usage than a urinalysis. Most members of the Minnesota Monitoring staff are fully trained in the collection, handling and reporting of hair samples. Lab results take 1 - 3 business days from the time the lab receives the specimen. We recommend calling ahead for an appointment.

Drug Detection Patches can be worn by the individual. PharmChek® drugs of abuse sweat patches provide an alternative to urine collection and offers a number of advantages. Because the sweat patch is worn on the skin for up to 7 - 14 days, it not only acts as a deterrent to continued drug use, but also increases the window of detection to include any period when it is worn. Therefore, it is easier to identify which drug was actually taken.

Many families today are also faced with gripping challenges stemming from alcohol use and or abuse. In order to help assist parents, social workers and most importantly children, Minnesota Monitoring provides an in-home alcohol monitor to test for the presence of alcohol consumption. Random or scheduled calls can be placed to best help in a wide variety of family situations.

We also offer pre and post parenting time breath alcohol tests, as well as, an ETG (Ethyl Glucuronide) test which is a urine alcohol test that goes back approximately 80 hours for alcohol consumption.

As with all of our services, Minnesota Monitoring evaluates each case and individualizes the service needed. Each family is different; therefore no two cases can be handled in the same manner. However, each client is treated with dignity and each matter with confidentiality.
